Happy Birthday, Brandi Carlile.
Today, the lovely singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile turns 29 years old. Do yourself a favor and go listen to "The Story," the title track from her 2007 album. (Or, if you can find it, try the acoustic live version from her 2007 EP, Live at Easy Street Records). She's got quite a voice.
Though I am not a big fan of Burnett, it's difficult (at least for me) to complain about his association with her, since my favorite song of hers is on the album he produced.
Thirty-something suffering from nostalgia but, thankfully, not from bouts of irony. Here, I will revisit artifacts of popular culture not sufficiently explored elsewhere, though I may perhaps stray from that mission at times.
